I Scoil Ursula, bíonn gach duine ag deanamh iarracht chun an cúpla focal a úsáid i rith an lae.
Bhí taispeántas mór againn sa halla ar an 10ú lá Márta.
Bhí na páistí go léir ó Naoínáin Shóisearacha go dtí Rang 6 ag cleachtadh amhráin, dánta agus rince gach lá .
Bhí lá glas againn ar an lá chomh maith.
Chuir na páistí agus na múinteoirí seó iontach ar siúl.
Comhgairdeas a pháistí! Bhí sibh ar fheabhas ar fad!

Seachtain na Gaeilge is an international festival that takes place this year from the 1st – 17th March.

In Scoil Ursula, everybody is making an effort to use their few Irish words during the dya.

On the 10th March we put on a big show in the hall.

All the children from Junior Infants to 6th class were practicing songs, poems and dances.

We had a “green day” on the day too.

The children and their teachers put on a fantastic show on the Friday.

Well done boys and girls! You were absolutely brilliant!

Operation Transformation started in Scoil Ursula on Wednesday the 1st of March.

Some teams enjoyed playing ‘Sharks and Islands’ with Mrs. Gilley while others had great fun playing dodgeball with Mrs. Corkery on the field.

Stay tuned to see what other teams are up to!

On Fridays all students and staff will learn a new dance taught by Ms. Byrne, Ms. Glavin and Ms. Crowley! I’m sure your child will tell you all about it!!

Many of the boys and girls in Junior Infants have begun creating their personal souvenir of Junior Infants.
The children, along with their parents and under the careful guidance of our Art expert, Helen, have printed one of their hand prints in clay. Next week, they will paint them black and Helen will add a special touch to each hand print. We can’t wait to see the finished product.

Week 2

The mums, dads and children painted the hand-prints black and with the help of Helen, pressed gold paint into the hand-print. Helen also wrote the child’s name and the date they made their hand-print on it.
Well done everybody!

Junior Infants had a very busy and exciting month in the lead up to Christmas.
To start off the Christmas season, we had a new addition to our class. Santa sent one of his scout elves to live in our classroom. He flew back every night to the North Pole to report what he saw during the day. There was great excitement every morning to see what our elf “Buddy” had been up to.

In Aistear, our theme was Santa’s Grotto. The children had fun dressing up as Santa and other Christmas characters. They also helped to decorate the  Christmas tree.
The children wrote their letters to Santa, and in the playdough area, they worked on with winter and Christmas themed playdough mats. The children in the Small World area used lollipop stick characters to act out different scenarios in Santa’s Grotto.

We did lots of different Art activities over the month of December. Have a look at our Angels, Snow Globes, and Christmas Stockings. We also helped teacher and Erica decorate gingerbread houses.

One of the highlights of the Junior Infant day is most definitely Maths stations. The boys and girls work very hard to develop their sorting, counting, pattern, number and comparing skills.

Have a look at some pictures of us at work.
